Battle of the Books

Battle of the Books is a reading program designed to encourage students to read and to recognize those students who like to read. The program is open to fourth and fifth graders. Teams work together to read and quiz on the 10 listed books. The two highest scoring teams will then battle for the title of Battle of the Books Champions!

Math Wings

The purpose of our Math Wings after-school club is to provide an opportunity for all fourth and fifth grade students to learn important content and skills beyond what is provided in the classroom, and to promote the mindset that all children can learn math. Our focus is to enrich the learning for motivated, high-achieving math students and encourage all students to see that they, too, can be high-achieving math students.

Pokémon Club

Pokémon Club is evolving, and we choose YOU! Get ready to catch some fun as we battle boredom, train our minds, and trade smiles with fellow Trainers. Each meeting kicks off with a quick mini-lesson, think of it as our “XP boost” which is followed by plenty of time to duel it out in the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). Whether you’re a Pikachu pro or just starting your first quest, you’ll have a Blastoise of a time. So grab your Poké Balls and your best moves. Let’s make every meeting a legendary adventure!

Running Club

The Black Bob Blazers is a running club that promotes fitness and community involvement.

Special Chorus

The Black Bob Special Chorus is a singing ensemble open to any fourth or fifth grade student who is excited about singing and wants to share their amazing vocal talents! Joining the choir is a fun way to make new friends, share your voice, and create amazing music together. Rehearsals typically begin in late September and finish in late April. We perform a winter concert, a spring concert, and we go on a Special Chorus field trip where we share our music with the other elementary, middle school, and high school choirs in our community.

Theater Club

Theater Club is open to second through fifth grade students. Students will perform in a short play at the end of a 10-week period. They will rehearse and memorize lines and blocking for a character in the play. The performance will be one evening after school. Theater Club is limited to 20-25 spots and meets one afternoon per week.
